Sexuality: ...Really not sure. Could be gay, and will most likely at the very least be bisexual. He's never really been interested in girls, at least. And he's 15, so he himself probably isn't sure either.

Appearance: Edo... looks like the lovechild of a genetic engineering lab and a bleach factory. He has silvery hair and surprisingly striking ocean-blue eyes. He's never been seen wearing a Duel Academia uniform in canon; only his normal gray suit with a purple-and-white tie. Though his outfit is rather simple, it still stands out in a crowd.

Personality: Edo had always been a kind, curious little boy, certainly not the type to pull the wings off butterflies or anything. He was bright, cheerful, and perfectly content with life. However, that brief happiness from the beginning of his life changed when his father died. Edo grew more cynical, losing his childhood naivety, his chipper attitude quickly fading into melancholy. However, his curiosity is one thing that never died -- when he is exposed to Saioh's tarot readings, he begins to question the workings of Destiny, and wonders if, truly, your fate is predetermined and cannot be changed.

He remains somewhat troubled, despite having become close friends with Saioh. Half-expecting something to come and snap up Saioh at any given moment, he is permanently concerned for his only real friend's safety over his own. Edo possesses a deep-seated unhappiness, yet despite this, rather than feeling he is powerless, he is fairly determined to overcome whatever enormous obstacle lies ahead for Saioh... and himself.

Abilities/Strengths: Edo is surprisingly athletic; you'd never expect a fifteen-year-old to be so physically strong. Sure, he may not have the ability to win a fistfight with someone older than him, but he's been seen skydiving, windsurfing, and doing other various sports. He's also extremely intelligent, quickly becoming a rising star in his own world in the competitive game of Duel Monsters. He also would probably be able to outwit someone in any sort of game, or get himself out of a tight situation or something.

Weapons: None to speak of. He probably will have a Duel Disk and his deck, and maybe a few personal possessions, but he does not carry anything potent on him.

Weaknesses: In battle, Edo will probably prefer to fight long-distance rather than close-range. He wouldn't do well in a fistfight; more than likely he'd try to find a way to evade until an escape route became available, under normal circumstances. His main strength lies in his intelligence, it would seem, so if you can manage to trick him, the battle would be all yours. However, it would probably be easier to just outforce him, rather than try to beat him in a battle of wits.

History: There's no doubting Edo was a happy little boy, who grew up with his father in an American city. He and his father were good friends with the rising star and later world champion, nicknamed DD. His father was a card designer for Industrial Illusions, and he would make cards especially for Edo; namely, the D-Hero series. Shortly after Edo's father had designed the card "Bloo-D", which was supposed to be the ultimate D-Hero card, it became infected with the essence of the Wave of Light. And when DD broke into their apartment to steal said card, he too was subjected to the Wave of Light, implanting an evil presence into his already rather evil mind. He proceeded to steal Edo's father's soul using Bloo-D... and got away with it. The police were always unable to track him down. To prevent suspicion while keeping an eye on the murder scene at the same time, he offered to take little Edo in.

At his father's funeral, Edo was confronted by a mysterious boy, telling him that this was his destiny. This boy was Saioh Takuma, who soon became Edo's closest friend. He told Edo of the destiny he foresaw for himself and for Edo, telling Edo that he will be the one to save him.

The night Saioh disappeared, Mizuchi, Saioh's little sister, contacted Edo, sounding frantic. She explained that a shady man had come into the house asking for a divination, and Saioh had agreed to it, despite her own disapproval. But before he could complete the reading, he vanished inexplicably.

Edo hung up suddenly, attempted to pull himself together, and then hurried to the place the Saioh siblings were living.

Yet, before he could reach it, he passed out.

And woke in a world he couldn't begin to imagine.
